Activist Trupti Desai meets family of slain sarpanch
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Activist Trupti Desai on Monday met the family members of slain Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh from Beed, including his brother Dhananjay Deshmukh, during her tour of the district.
Later, Desai stated, "The family narrated to me their trauma and the ordeal they are facing due to the brutal killing. I assured them of support until justice is done."
Earlier in the day, Desai appeared before the Beed police court in response to a notice she was served related to charges she levelled against some police personnel in the district, with regards to the Massajog murder case.
"I submitted videos, call records, and photos available with me to the Beed police. The data and information provided by me help in establishing a nexus between some police personnel and Valmik Karad (accused in the Deshmukh murder case)," she said.
Desai asserted that the home department should take action against the accused police personnel. "Residents of Beed will heave a sigh of relief if action is taken against the personnel. It will help restore the law and order situation in the district," she said.
