The previous speculations began with the rumor when Malaika was missing from Arjun's midnight birthday celebration and didn't post any wishes to him on social media, which fans took as a sign of tension between the couple. Following the passing of Malaika’s father, Anil Mehta, Arjun was one of the first to arrive at the family's residence, standing by Malaika and her family in their time of grief.
