Brandon McManus, the newly signed kicker for the Green Bay Packers, expressed his gratitude for the fresh opportunity he's been given after a challenging period. The veteran kicker, 33, has stepped in to replace rookie Brayden Narveson, who struggled this season, missing five field goals— the most in the league. For McManus, joining the Packers is a chance to prove himself once again after being absent from the NFL due to off-field issues.

Earlier in the season, McManus found himself without a team after being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars following a lawsuit involving two women who accused him of misconduct during a flight to London in 2023. The lawsuit, filed by two flight attendants, alleged that McManus made inappropriate advances, attempting to kiss one of them and behaving inappropriately toward both. Despite these allegations, the lawsuit was recently resolved, although details remain confidential. McManus and his legal team have expressed that the case is behind them, stating, “The case has been resolved.” His lawyer, Brett Gallaway, reinforced the sentiment, stating that McManus is now focused on his NFL career.
While McManus did not provide much insight into the resolution, his lawyer, Tony Buzbee, representing the plaintiffs, confirmed that the matter had been settled, with terms kept private. McManus reflected on the challenging months he had endured, stating that it had been a difficult time, but he remained optimistic and persistent in seeking another opportunity to play. He shared his appreciation for the Green Bay Packers, saying, “It’s been a difficult time these last couple of months. I’m happy that it’s in the past now. I was hoping and working hard for another opportunity. I’m extremely grateful for the Green Bay Packers for giving me that next chance to come back out here and play the game I love.”
“The matter’s been resolved,” McManus said. “I was always up front and honest about it. That’s how I was able to kind of get through this all.”
Despite the legal challenges, McManus’ performance on the field has always been commendable. Over the course of his career, he has made 81.4% of his field goals, excelling within 50 yards with an impressive 90.8% success rate. However, his accuracy drops to 54.9% for kicks beyond 50 yards. After spending nine seasons with the Denver Broncos, McManus briefly joined the Washington Commanders before his legal troubles surfaced, leading to his release.
Now, with a clean slate, McManus is eager to showcase his talent once again for the Packers, hopeful that his past struggles are firmly behind him.
