Lawrence Bishnoi gang claims responsibility for two blasts near Badshah’s bar and restaurant in Chandigarh: Report

Two low-intensity explosions occurred outside a nightclub in Sector 26 during the early hours of November 26, according to reports from related authorities. The blasts, which happened between 2:30 am and 2:45 am, caused minor property damage. The explosive devices were thrown by two individuals on a motorcycle, and Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang members, including Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara, claimed responsibility for the act in a Facebook post.
According to India Today, gangsters Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara, connected with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, stated in their social media posts that they were responsible for the blasts. The posts alleged that the explosions targeted the De'orra Restaurant and Sevillee Bar & Lounge, owned by rapper Badshah. The gang claimed to have made extortion demands to the owners, which were reportedly ignored.

An FIR has been lodged and an investigation is underway, police said to ANI. Puran, a worker at one of the clubs, said though the joint was closed, there were seven to eight workers inside at the time of the incident. They reportedly heard a loud sound around 3.15 am and rushed outside. They found broken glass, but did not spot anyone, he added.
Police reported that two individuals on a motorcycle threw the explosive devices outside the De’orra Restaurant and Sevillee Bar & Lounge, located about 30 meters apart. The blasts shattered window panes and caused slight structural damage to both establishments, with a nearby club also suffering minor damage.
Chandigarh Police rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the explosions and launched an investigation. The bomb detection squad and forensic experts were called in to collect evidence. Preliminary findings suggest the use of a homemade bomb, but police are yet to confirm the exact nature of the device.
The blasts have raised concerns about safety in the area, particularly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to visit Chandigarh on December 3.

Goldy Brar, a known member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had previously claimed responsibility for the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in May 2022. He was declared a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act earlier this year. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the blasts to identify the culprits and determine their motives.
