Twist in Saif Ali Khan attack case: The accused Shariful Islam's finger prints do not match with the samples found at the actor's house

In January, Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his Mumbai residence, leading to injuries and subsequent surgery. Shariful Islam, reportedly from Bangladesh, was arrested, and the police have submitted a 1000-page charge sheet detailing evidence against him.

Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his house in Mumbai on January 16. The actor suffered several injuries as he was immediately rushed to the hospital and underwent a surgery. He's now recuperating and the police took the accused in custody, who is reportedly from Bangladesh. His name is Shariful Islam.

Mumbai Police submits a 1000-page charge sheet

Recently, the police has filed a chargesheet of 1000 pages and submitted it to the court, thus giving details of the case. According to ANI, the police police was quoted saying, "This chargesheet includes several pieces of evidence found by the police against the arrested accused, Shariful Islam. This chargesheet is more than 1000 pages long. The report of the forensic lab has also been mentioned in this chargesheet, which states that the knife pieces found at the crime scene, from Saif Ali Khan's body and from the accused, are three pieces of the same knife."
Finger prints found at the house don't match with the accused
Meanwhile, now there's a new twist in the tale. A report by News18 Showsha suggests that nearly ⁠20 samples were sent to the state CID’s Fingerprint Bureau, of which 19 did not match with that of the accused. As per the chargesheet filed by the police, the fingerprints found on the bathroom door, the sliding door of the bedroom and cupboard door did not match with the accused who is arrested. The only finger print that matched with Shariful was the one recovered from the eighth floor of the building. This charge sheet also includes facial recognition test results, fingerprint reports and findings of the forensic lab.

Bail plea of Shariful opposed

The police has opposed the bail plea of Shariful and informed the court that the knife fragement that got lodged near the spine of the actor and the one found at the crime scene have matched with the weapon recovered from Shariful.
