In an interview with Pinkvilla, Bazmee revealed his enthusiasm about reuniting with the actor, expressing that it would be an exciting prospect if the storyline aligns. "There is a great bond of friendship, love, and everything. If the story fits, I’d be really happy to have him back," said Bazmee. He acknowledged their successful past collaborations, hinting that Akshay’s return would only happen if the story made sense for the franchise’s next chapter.

Bazmee emphasized that their close professional relationship over the years has been built on a foundation of mutual respect and understanding. However, he also noted that any decision regarding the actor’s return would ultimately depend on whether the script suits Akshay's character and the direction of the film. This leaves room for speculation about whether the iconic character from the previous installments will return or if a new approach will be taken.

In the same conversation, director Amar Kaushik also discussed Akshay Kumar’s special appearance in the horror-comedy film. When questioned about the theories suggesting Akshay Kumar’s cameo role in 'Stree 2' was connected to his character from Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Kaushik clarified that there was no intentional link between the two roles. He humorously recalled how Kumar had mentioned his character’s backstory from a mental asylum, which led to fans drawing parallels. “I didn’t know this,” Kaushik said, adding that the character was not initially written for Akshay Kumar.Kaushik revealed that Kumar’s involvement in 'Stree 2' came about unexpectedly when he approached the actor while producing Sky Force.

"He said he makes a very good comedy, and I also make a decent one," Kaushik said, recalling how the director jokingly asked Kumar to join 'Stree 2'. Despite the uncertainty, Akshay Kumar was more than willing to take part, even offering to shoot on a Sunday, bringing a fun and nostalgic energy to the project.
