Aamir Khan just spent Rs 50 for his secret wedding with Reena Dutta, says Shehzad Khan: 'I was supposed to be one of the witnesses'

Aamir Khan marked his debut with 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' but did you know that he was already secretly married before his debut film released. The film was director by Mansoor Khan and starred Aamir opposite Juhi Chawla. The movie also starred actor Shehzad Khan who was also seen in 'Andaz Apna Apna' with Aamir. In a recent interview, he has revealed that he was supposed to be one of the witnesses for Aamir's wedding.He said during a chat with Bollywood Thikana, "We heard about his secret wedding through sources.They had a court marriage for just Rs 50. I was supposed to be one of the witnesses but as usual I was late and they had left for their respective homes after their marriage.”For those not in the know, Reena was seen in the song 'Papa Kehte Hai' with Aamir in a guest appearance during that time. Much later, she had also helped Aamir produce his dream film 'Lagaan'.Aamir and Reena however, got divorced in 2002 after sixteen years of marriage. They have two children - Junaid Khan and Ira.In a recent interview, Aamir revealed that he had gone for marriage counselling before divorce with Reena but was against it. He said during a chat with Pinkvilla, "Main jab pehli dafa... therapy toh nahi thi woh. I think it was more like counseling. Jab Reena aur main alag ho rahe the toh uss waqt hum log kareeban dedh saal ek marriage counselor ke paas gaye the. Toh woh mera pehla experience tha therapy, counseling ko le kar (My first time… I wouldn’t call it therapy… When Reena and I were separating, we went to a marriage counselor for about a year and a half. So that was my first experience of therapy and counseling)."He added, "Aur mujhe yaad hai ki main uske sakht khilaaf tha. Maine Reena ko bola, ‘Mujhe nahi bolna kisi strange insaan ko ki mere kya jazbaat hain ya mera aapka rishta kya raha hai. Main kisi ajnabee ko kaise apne dil ki baat uske saamne kaise rakhun (And I remember that I was strongly against it. I told Reena, ‘I don't want to tell any strange person what my feelings are or what our relationship has been. How can I tell my feelings to a stranger’)?”After divorce with Reena, Aamir married Kiran Rao in 2005. The couple announced their divorce in 2021. Aamir has continued to remain good friends with both his ex-wives and they continue to remain a part of his family.
