'Was high, spitting white powder’: Malayalam actor Vincy Aloshious accuses co-actor of 'misbehaviour' on movie set
NEW DELHI: Noted Malayalam actor Vincy Aloshious has accused a co-actor of drug use and misbehaviour on the set of a film.
In a post on her Instagram account, she explained that her recent statement at an anti-drug campaign—where she had said she wouldn’t work with known drug users again—was based on this personal experience. After facing backlash and comments online, Vincy felt compelled to clarify her position.

In the video message, the actress opened up about her traumatic experience, saying it was the reason she vowed not to work with individuals known to consume drugs.
"A few days back, at an anti-drug campaign programme I made a statement that I will not do movies again with people I know who use drugs. After this statement there has been several comments. When I read those comments, I felt that I should clear certain things as to why I made such a statement, " Vincy said.

What is the best way to handle drug use allegations on film sets?

Vincy said the incident took place during the shoot of a movie where the lead actor, allegedly under the influence of drugs, behaved inappropriately with her and a colleague.
Vincy mentioned that she encountered a problem with her dress and she went to fix it. The lead actor of the film offered to assist with fixing it, making this statement publicly. The situation created significant challenges in proceeding with the filming schedule.
"When I faced an issue with my dress, I went to fix it. He said, I will also come and will fix it for you. He said this in front of everyone. It was very difficult to go ahead with the shoot," Vincy said.
Recalling another instance from the same shoot, Vincy alleged that the actor was visibly consuming drugs on set.
“When we were practising a scene, he was spitting some kind of white powder on the table. It was very evident that he was using drugs on the film set. When you use it on a film set and become a nuisance to others, it is not easy to work with," she added.
“This is not about judging someone’s personal choices, but when it affects others on set and makes the work environment toxic, I can’t support it. Everyone, including the director, knew about the incident,” she added.

Will take action if Vincy Aloshious gives complaint: AMMA

The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has responded to actor Vincy Aloshious’s social media post alleging misbehaviour and drug use by a co-actor on set.
The issue was taken up by AMMA's ad hoc committee on Wednesday. The organisation said it would consider disciplinary action if Aloshious files a formal complaint and the accused is an AMMA member.
Aloshious earlier stated she would avoid working with such individuals, citing a traumatic on-set experience.
