CHENNAI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out searches at multiple locations across Chennai linked to environmental consultants on Tuesday.
Simultaneous searches took place in Koyambedu, Ashok Nagar, Saidapet, Virugambakkam, and Mylapore. Separate ED teams, guarded by CRPF personnel, reached the targeted venues.

The office of EHS360Labs Pvt Ltd in Ashok Nagar and the houses of Director Alankanathan of Alenkar Infra Business Alliance and Ensys Technologies in Saidapet were searched by ED sleuths.
Additionally, director Gunasekaran of Echo Care Engineering and Director Gunasekaran of Sutrusuzhal Paramarippu Poriyiyal Pvt Ltd were also targeted.
The ED did not officially reveal the reasons behind the searches, but sources indicated that Echo Care Engineering Ltd provided equipment to the Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board.
Sources said that ED searches could be based on the 2021 DVAC FIR against one S Pandian, the then superintendent of the environment dept in Pudukkottai, for accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Sources also said that Alankanathan also has a case pending against him based income tax searches.
