NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Dharam Singh Chhoker, a former Haryana Congress MLA who had been declared "absconding," official sources said on Monday.
The 61-year-old ex-legislator was taken into custody from a hotel in Delhi on Sunday and is expected to be produced before a Gurugram court later in the day.

Chhoker, who previously represented the Samalkha Assembly seat in Panipat district, had contested the last Haryana Assembly election from the same constituency but lost.
He, along with his sons Vikas Chhoker (also absconding) and Sikandar Chhoker, faces charges of cheating over 1,500 homebuyers and siphoning off more than ₹500 crore. Sikandar was arrested by the ED last year and is currently out on bail.
A special court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) had earlier issued multiple non-bailable warrants against Dharam Singh Chhoker and Vikas Chhoker. In March, the ED declared both men as proclaimed offenders and directed them to appear in court by May 19.
The money laundering case originates from an FIR filed by Gurugram Police against Sai Aaina Farms and associated companies.
