Randy Orton has been absent from the
WWE television programming for some months now after being attacked on SmackDown.
Randy Orton is credited to be one of the most tenured and accomplished WWE superstars of all time. The Viper was going strong after his return in 2023 from a lengthy hiatus. However, he was assaulted by Kevin Owens amidst their feud in November 2024 and had to be carried out on a stretcher. Since then, the fans have not seen Orton on WWE television. However, there is a huge update regarding the return of WWE's Apex Predator.
What is the expected timeline for Randy Orton's WWE return?
According to a new report by PWInsider, multiple creative personnel have confirmed that Randy Orton is expected to return next month. Not only that, the 13-time WWE Champion will also be a part of the WWE European Tour leading to their premier event in Las Vegas in April, WrestleMania 41.
In a follow-up to the report on Fightful’s post-RAW show, Sean Ross Sapp gave his take on the return of Randy Orton. He stated that Orton has been the "odd man out" in the ongoing heated feud between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Furthermore, he also added that WWE wants him to be involved in the road to WrestleMania but has not heard any concrete plans so far.
“Does Randy Orton fit right into the Sami Zayn-Kevin Owens thing? Because he has been sort of the odd man out in his absence. I know they’ve wanted him involved in WrestleMania, but I haven’t specifically heard anything. So, I’m hopeful that he’s back soon.”Randy Orton's last match took place on SmackDown back in October 2024. He teamed up with the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to battle the team of Ludwig Kaiser and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. This was two weeks before Kevin Owens subjected Orton to the assault that has led to his absence.
The Viper has been a part of multiple WrestleManias in his career since he debuted back in 2002 and wrestled some of the biggest names like The Undertaker, Triple H, and AJ Styles. So it remains to be seen if Randy Orton would be able to make it back in time for WrestleMania 41 this year.
