NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians’ star batter Suryakumar Yadav added another feather to his illustrious cap on Sunday, becoming the fastest Indian to reach 4000 runs in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in terms of balls faced. The milestone came during Mumbai Indians' crucial clash against Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium.

Suryakumar achieved the landmark in just 2705 balls, maintaining a sensational strike rate of 147.87. His effort places him third overall on the all-time list, trailing only the legendary Chris Gayle (2653 balls) and AB de Villiers (2658 balls). Among Indians, however, he stands alone at the top, underlining his reputation as one of the most destructive batters in modern T20 cricket.
