The Class 12 practical exams were held in December 2024. This year, a total of 23,267 students sat for the HSLC exams, including 957 compartmental candidates, while 17,194 students appeared for the HSSLC exams, which includes 546 compartmental candidates. In the HSSLC stream-wise breakdown, 12,403 students appeared in Arts, 3,219 in Science, and 1,026 in Commerce. The exams were held in various centres across the state, ensuring wide accessibility for all candidates.
Performance in previous years
In 2024, the HSLC results were declared on April 26. Out of 22,567 enrolled students, 16,216 students cleared the exams, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 71.87%. In comparison, the HSSLC results for 2024 were also declared on the same day, with 17,911 students enrolled, out of which 14,652 students passed, giving an overall pass percentage of 82.91%. The performance was notable across different streams, with the Arts stream having a pass percentage of 83.16%, Science at 80.88%, and Commerce at 87.67%.
Evaluation and next steps for students
Following the completion of the exams, the evaluation of answer scripts took place in March and early April 2025, ensuring a thorough and accurate process. For students who are dissatisfied with their results, there is an option to apply for rescrutiny within 15 days post-result by paying Rs 500 per subject. For those who fail in up to four subjects, compartment exams will be held in June 2025, with results expected in July.
How to check the results
Students can access their results through various channels. The official website of NBSE, nbsenl.edu.in, will provide the results, where students can enter their roll number and date of birth to view and download their provisional marksheets. Results will also be available via SMS by sending the respective codes (NB10 for HSLC and NB12 for HSSLC) to 56070. Additionally, students can download the NBSE Results 2025 mobile app from the Google Play Store.
The results will also include a list of toppers and stream-wise statistics. It is advised that students verify all details on their marksheet before reporting any discrepancies to school authorities. Original marksheets will be distributed from May 2 to May 6, 2025.
