MUMBAI: It was 'bhool chuk maaf' at Bombay high court on Thursday as both sides buried the hatchet and signed consent terms to amicably end their legal dispute over the alleged reneging of an agreement to release the film. The film, starring actor Rajkumar Rao, is likely to be released in theatres on May 23.After Maddock Films Pvt Ltd appealed against a stay on proposed OTT release, an order passed in a plea filed by PVR Inox, both sides agreed to file confidential mutual consent terms to end the dispute. Justice Arif Doctor stayed the forthcoming release of the film-a courtroom drama-for eight weeks and granted interim relief to PVR Inox Ltd, which sought the stay, claiming a violation of a contract for its release in theatres.PVR, through senior counsel Dinyar Madon and advocate Darshan Mehta, said Maddock Films, producer of the film, only on May 8 terminated an agreement by which it agreed to release the film Maddock, through senior counsel Janak Dwarkadas, with advocates Ameet Naik and Madhu Gadodia, said the eight-week restraint clause was to kick in only in case of a theatrical release. A bench of Justices Kamal Khata and Advait Sethna nudging them towards a peaceful solution, both sides decided to forgive and forged a settlement, reducing the holdback period.
